What is it that makes this movie's first look so effective . Why are people saying finally we got the kind of movie we wanted to watch? Why this much of buzz on short time.
On my belief it does not matter what kind of movie you make , first you need to like what u are making ! (reminds me of first day of class with GREG).. Guess what Nischal(dir. LOOT) once said the same thing -- he wants to make movie he wants to watch . Let's ask 98 % of our film makers, would they be interested on watching their movie if shown to them without their credit..? I bet 90% would say no and remaing 8% are just pretending they like what they made. Unless u dont like what u are doing u will never give your 100%. Either you drop your project or force to complete it. I would like to quote my friend Gilly (dir. Jester) "once I have to do something by force creative goes of of window". But Loot as Nischal says is not a forced issue it's something that came from heart for him and he made it happen because he wanted it..Don't we connect to Loot.. From the why they talk to the way they act. There is sense of humor on it but you know it's coming from a broken heart a heart that has gone through a lot. (hats off to saugat malla for playing that so good. And hats off to Nischal for casting him). I have not seen the whole thing if Saugat malla is not the lead in here (no offense to other actors) Loot might just suffer. Because he holds the screen so powerfully (even the item number ; I was like oh okay untill saugat malla came in he stole the show)..
So we got through screenplay directing and casting now what next . As we are talking of promo. Let's talk art of making a promo. Promo are suppose to give you the over all idea of movie either you call it core of movie or you call it synopsis of movie... Most of our promo before this, "were really worried m I leaking any story if I leak any story will people come in to watch it ?" Ah common u are not showing what made it happen you are not showing what might just happen . What u think gonna make people come in to watch your stuff . Few fight scenes and buch of songs (and now a days a kiss scene which is not even hot..) Comon give us something. Trailer of Loot gives us that completness. I might be expecting lot from this movie but I would . Because this movie has been made with good intention and put on lot of heart and soul on it and you can see that.
I said Swapnil Acharya after seeing the Loot poster "movie better hold standard your poster design had set". His answer was "by how much I have seen it looks good and Nischal visual way of story telling with sense of humor comes along nicely" . Watched the promo I could see all he was talking about .
